Shootsy didn't start in a boardroom — it started with my outfits, and my little adventures around London. I've always wanted proper photos of the days out, the new fit, the tiny moments worth remembering. But asking my friends to stop and take a photo, again, felt like A Lot. And don't even get me started on how shy I am to ask a total stranger — I'd genuinely rather just not have the photo. So most of it just went uncaptured, filed under "memories that only exist in my head."

Turns out that feeling wasn't just about outfit pics (although, also, it was very much about outfit pics). I kept running into the same problem everywhere — needing quality photos or video for a brand, a launch, a moment — and having zero easy way to book someone nearby who could just turn up and shoot it. Freelance platforms are built for massive projects and slow, painful back-and-forth, not "I need this today please and thank you." There wasn't a simple way to just find someone local, book them, and get great content the same day.
So naturally, I decided to build it myself — from the ground up.
Shootsy is a two-sided marketplace: creators set their own rates and get discovered by people nearby who need content fast, and clients get to browse, book, chat and pay all in one place — with reviews on both sides, because trust matters and nobody wants to book a stranger with main-character energy and zero reviews.
I've built Shootsy end to end, solo, like an absolute unit — the product, the backend, the deeply unglamorous (but very important) legal and business bits — Shootsy Ltd is a real, registered UK company, thank you very much — and the whole brand you're looking at right now. It's early days, but every part of it has been built with proper care, because I want creators to feel properly supported and clients to feel like they can trust who they're booking.
A bit more about me: born in Southampton, shipped off to Brisbane, Australia at four years old, dual UK/Australian citizen, now a Londoner through and through — which probably explains why I'm always out trying to make the most of this city (and why I need someone to actually document it).
