Shootsy

Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 October 2026

The short version: Shootsy is a marketplace. We help clients find and book independent photographers and videographers ("creators"). The shoot itself is an agreement between the client and the creator. We run the platform, handle the payment safely through Stripe, and keep a commission.

1. Who we are

Shootsy is run by SHOOTSY LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17450268). Our registered office is 26 Gregg Close, Swanmore, Southampton, England, SO32 2FD. You can contact us at hello@shootsy.co.uk.

In these terms, "we", "us" and "Shootsy" mean SHOOTSY LTD. "You" means anyone who uses our website or apps.

2. Using Shootsy

You must be at least 18 to create an account. You agree to give accurate information, keep your password private, and be responsible for activity on your account. You can have a client account or a creator account.

You must not use Shootsy to break the law, harass or deceive anyone, upload content you do not have the right to use, scrape or copy the platform, or take bookings or payments away from Shootsy to avoid our commission after meeting someone through the platform.

3. Our role

Shootsy provides the platform that lets clients and creators find each other, chat, and arrange bookings. Creators are independent businesses or individuals. They are not our employees or agents, and we do not control how they work.

The contract for a shoot is between the client and the creator. We do not guarantee the quality, safety or availability of any creator. We do carry out checks for the "Verified" badge, but that is not a guarantee, and you should use your own judgement.

4. Bookings

A client sends a booking request. The creator can accept or decline it. A booking is confirmed once the creator accepts it. The price is the creator's rate shown on their profile, unless the client and creator agree something different in writing through the platform. We recommend agreeing the details of the shoot, such as location, timing and what will be delivered, in the booking chat.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card details. By paying, you also accept Stripe's terms.

Cancellations and refunds are covered in our Cancellation and Refund Policy.

6. Content and photos

Creators own the copyright in the photos and videos they take. Unless the client and creator agree otherwise in writing, the creator gives the client a non-exclusive licence to use the delivered content for their own personal or business purposes, but not to resell it or claim it as their own work.

When you upload content to Shootsy (such as portfolio photos, your profile, messages or reviews), you confirm you have the right to share it. You give us a free, non-exclusive licence to display it on the platform and in our marketing so that we can run and promote Shootsy. You can ask us to remove it at any time.

7. Reviews

Only clients who completed a booking can leave a review. Reviews must be honest and based on a real experience. We can remove reviews that are abusive, fake or break these terms.

8. Our responsibility

We provide Shootsy with reasonable care and skill, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error free. We are not responsible for what happens during a shoot, for the actions of creators or clients, or for losses we could not reasonably have predicted.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Subject to that, our total responsibility to you for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.

9. Suspending accounts

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. You can close your account at any time by emailing us.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as Shootsy grows. We will update the date at the top, and tell you about important changes. If you keep using Shootsy after a change, you accept the new terms.

11. Law and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute, although if you are a consumer you may also have the right to bring a claim where you live. If you have a problem, please email hello@shootsy.co.uk first and we will do our best to put it right.
